So, been busy lately in my limbo before the new job starts...
Went to Baltimore and DC last week. In the span of 32 hours, we went to (in this order)the new Baseball Hall of Fame exhibit at the Smithstonian museum of Natural History (ok, but too small), the new WWII memorial (very nice), the Air and Space Museum and we walked through the mall in between, with a quick stop at the gift shop of the Spy Museum. Next it was a stop at the hotel in Cheverly, Maryland. The hotel was about what you would expect out of a 70 bucks a night HoJo in a neighborhood that was less than desirable. From there we went to the Baltimore Orioles game versus the Yanks, barely making it in time to the game (traffic is a bitch there). Camden Yards is a great stadium, AND it was Cap Night! Not only that, we got Boog Powell's (a former Oriole who owns a grill place there) autograph on the hat. The seats were way up and out in left field, but it was a great night for baseball and the Yanks won, so things were good. After the game, we headed over to the Hard Rock Cafe at Baltimore Harbor. Next, we went to hunt down one of the guy's cousin in DC. We tracked him down at a bar where we hung out for a bit. Then it was back up to the ghetto hotel room. I took the floor, figured if someone came in and shot at us, they'd aim for the beds first. Plus I don't share a bed with anyone but my wife. We slept all of like 3 hours, and then we got up and headed to the new Smithstonian Air and Space Museum outside of Dulles airport. Go there, it's really cool, it's as many planes as they can fit in a big hangar. From there we headed back up to Baltimore to the Babe Ruth museum. Brian Roberts from the Orioles was signing autographs, so we got his autograph on the same hat as Boog Powell's. After lunch around the corner from the museum, we finally headed home. It was a busy trip...
