So what do you call a day where you have to do a ton of work, get ready for a trip, prepare for a class to teach that night and then drive through a terrible ice storm to get to the class to teach?
Friday.
Yes folks, tonight, the Millers, intrepid clan we are will celebrate St Patty's Day (Happy St. Patty's Day!!!) by heading to Ireland to see things unseen previously by Miller eyes. To get to that point, we had to deal with this ice storm first.
I don't know if you've noticed, but Jersey drivers are the worst in quite possibly the world. Imagine if you were to give every psychotic person in the world a license and then tell them they could only drive in one place in the world. Now realize that this has already happened and the place is New Jersey. A former co worker of mine once told me this great joke:
How do make an idiot in New Jersey?
Just add water.
He was referring to how bad drivers could be in NJ when it rained. Now picture that rain as hard ice and you have last night. My favorite part was when I was driving home in the truck lanes of the NJ turnpike and truck decided that the should should be a lane and blew right by us at around 50 mph on a solid sheet of ice. Lovelyness.
So yeah, ice storms + NJ = Never ever ever going to drive in that crap again.
On the plus side, driving into NYC was tricky, but was amazing when I got to the Holland Tunnel and it was completely empty. And they say teachers aren't dedicated in trying to get to their class to teach..
Anyway, Ireland. Tonight, we go there, tomorrow the adventure begins and these adventures(?) will be chronicled on this very blog, with pictures if all goes well. So, for those who are bored, come back and check here during the week. You might learn stuff.
