28 Days Later...

Wow, been way too long since I posted. So, as much for myself as anyone else, here's what's happened in the last 28 Days, bulleted out for your convenience in reading

  • Our four year anniversary was celebrated!
  • Work got insanely busy, for various reasons, some good, some bad - What was fun was that I got in front of a classroom again, always fun to do that.
  • Actually spent a full 2 weeks in NYC without traveling!
  • Heard one of my favorite quotes ever: "Management Decisions Unencumbered by Thought"
  • Finished the Spring semester of teaching my college class, great group, lots of fun
  • Traveled to Arlington/Dallas again, highlights:
    • Good sushi was had as sushi zone
    • Trailer trash is attracted to Wal - Mart, which is where I go when I'm bored down there for entertainment purposes
    • Had dinner with Frutoso and Cynthia in DeSoto, a lot of fun, when you can actually have a semblance of a normal life while traveling away from home, it always makes you feel better. Plus I learned (sorta) a new game called Phase 10, think Rummy + Uno, which I ordered for here. The food was great, and I had a lot of fun there.
    • The next night, co-worker in Arlington Linda and her daughter took myself and other fellow traveler from Chicago to Burleson, Texas to Babe's Chicken Dinner House. I had smoked chicken there, I'm in love with smoked chicken, and this was one of the best meals I had in years. http://www.babeschicken.com/
    • We stopped at Linda's on the way there, she's got an acre of land, a nice house, and the funniest dogs I have ever seen
  • Back in NY this week, wife #2 (don't ask, I'll explain someday) and I took Marlene to Morimoto's. Are you an Iron Chef fan? Then you know who Morimoto is. This is his restaurant. Amazing place. Best. Sushi. Ever. Here's the kicker. Morimoto was actually there! Here's the higher kick, they took of picture of him and Marlene together and sent it to us! It was a great night.
  • Got a new cell phone - a Cingular 8125 unlocked so I could drop a tmobile sim into it. Still tweaking it, but so far, so very good. I'm in cell phone geek heaven.
  • I have too many books.
Well, that's all for now...coming up in the next few weeks:
  • Yanks-Sox
  • Back to Chicago
  • One of the Millers graduates, and it's not me
