So lately, I had a mini obsession with trying to make my machine look like Windows Vista without installing Windows Vista since I actually want my PC to be able to run the programs on it. There area couple of ways to do this. My way of choice was by going to crystalxp.net and downloading the Brico Pack Vista Inspirat. This is not for the light of heart to do. But, if you're at a reasonable level of PC intelligence, it's worth checking out.
My other obsession, computer wise this week has been this site: http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/
Where every day, a new piece of software (full version) is made available to download (for FREE, remember, FREE is usually good). The catch is, the software can only be downloaded that day and only installed on that day. It's hit or miss, worth checking out. Also, on that site there's a link to the free GAME giveaway of the day (http://game.giveawayoftheday.com/ There, I gave you the link, saved you work) which follows the same concept only with a free game. Might be worth checking out...
Finally, baseball season starts tonight, and tomorrow is the Yankees home opener which I'll be at during what looks to be the best weather day of the week as of now. It also means it's fantasy baseball time. I'm a dork for this stuff, but I'm recovering, as I'm only in ONE league this year that doesn't suck the life out of you the way other leagues I've been in the past has. We drafted online last night, where for 3 hours or so, I picked players, ate candy and surfed the web while waiting for my turn to pick came up. For the baseball inclined, here's what I wound up with:
C: Mike Piazza, Johnny Estrada
1B: Justin Morneau, Nomar Garciaparra
2B: Rickie Weeks, Jeff Kent
3B: A-Rod, Ryan Zimmerman
SS: Rafael Furcal, Rich Aurilia
OF: Manny Ramirez, Jason Bay, Chris Young, Willy Taveras, Josh Willingham, Jim Edmonds
P: Ben Sheets, Justin Verlander, Ervin Santana, Brian Fuentes, Tom Glavine, John Patterson, Octavio Dotel, Kevin Millwood, Carl Pavano
So we'll see how this goes...
