Today, we started the day off by passing by the office so Marlene could meet some of the coworkers. From there, we made our way over to the Field Museum of natural history, but first we stopped at a small exhibit on Architecture and Infrastructure of cities (which oddly, I'm getting into as of late).
Field Museum was cool, learned stuff, but I'm a hyper person at best (at worst, I'm more wired that someone on speed who's had 220 cans of coke straight) so museums are always a fascinating experience in my own psychology and getting myself to sloooooooow down. Even then, we tend to speed sightsee. We did see a cool exhibit on evolution, and Sue the dinosaur (I'll get that pic up soon)
After, we wandered around the grounds, the Field Museum, the Aquarium and the Planetarium are all right next to each other in this beautiful park area. We grabbed a quick lunch and ate by the water.
From there, we headed over to the Art Institute of Chicago, we saw some cool paintings including:
And a new cool favorite:
Inventions of the Monster by Salvador Dali. I like Salvador Dali, he paints the way I think. Which is reason 2394 why my mind is a scary place where angels fear to tread. After, we headed back to the hotel to rest the feet for a few minutes. Next, we decided to go back out for jog. This time, we headed down the lake back towards the museum, only we went further, going all the way down to Soldier Field. It was humid out today, so maybe, not the best move.
Headed back to the hotel again, and since it's the last night in ChiTown, decided to take Marlene over for a fun dinner at Ed Debevic's. I've blogged about it before, but if you go to Chicago, eat at Ed's.
Oddly, afterwards, we stopped at Sports Authority, which I think it was a first for both us. Even odder, bought some sports related stuff. Go figured.
Anyway, tomorrow, Cleveland!?
