What a Magical world?

You know, for a vacation, I seem to be keeping quite busy...

Today, we got up at 9. Went over to that Magic Kingdom place. We took the car and parked over at the Grand Floridian, which is a nice hotel to walk around. Took the 'ole monorail (hey kids! sing the monorail song from the Simpsons!)

But first, before I continue, last night.

After seeing the fake beatles group who didn't sing I am the walrus, we made our way back towards the hotel, my feet were kinda being ripped to shreds so I had to patch them up. Made our way back out, and got ICE CREAM!!!! Well, a root beer float for me, shake for the Mrs. Hung out a bit and then walked over to the beach where we caught the last 30 minutes of the Incredibles while sitting on a swing on the beach. Not a bad way to end the day.

Ah, so today. The Magic Kingdom was far more crowded than Epcot was yesterday, but according to the workers this week is far quieter than last week, which makes me think last week was the apocalypse here.

Saw the revised Pirates of the Caribbean ride, which was really only changed by adding Jack Sparrow to the scenes. The scariest part was the fact that the family in front of us brought their NEWBORN Child on the ride. So let's see:

  • Dark ride that could be potentially scary for young children? Check.
  • Semi loud noises that could scare the child? Check.
  • Ride goes down a steep incline at one point? Check.
Yes, let's bring the newborn!

Now, I know I don't have kids, so what do I know? But I could swear that the parents might have wanted to possibly donate the child to the pirates, but that's just a hypothesis.

Normal stops at the Tiki Room were included as well.

Also rode that Splash Mountain. Got wet. That was needed. It was hot today. Like Florida hot out.

Rode Space Mountain twice too. Gotta love a ride that throws your body around like a punching bag.

Haunted Mansion was closed for rebuilding, booooooo.

Although I did ride the Carousel for I think the first time ever...

Wandered around a bit more then left the park and walked over to the Contemporary Resort.

There wasn't much going on there, so we took the Monorail over to the Polynesian, wandered around there then walked over to the Grand Floridian. Did the coolest thing of the day there. Rented a small 2 seater boat and we rode around the lagoon for a half hour - if you ever get a chance, do this, you won't regret it. Great great way to see a part of Disney you normally wouldn't see.

From there, we made our way over to Downtown Disney, where we did a little shopping. Bought my favorite thing of the day there too: A 2 foot tall Yoda? It just seemed like a good idea.

He's already become a part of the family.

We tracked down dinner at the Port Orleans resort and made our way back here on the earlier side (9ish), I have plans of jogging early tomorrow...

Oh quick note: You know those machines where the claw grabs the stuffed animal and you never can get them and win? There's a science to them, was able to snag little spaceman Mickey doll from it today.

Oh, put some pix up too: http://www.flickr.com/photos/7386407@N02/sets/72157601901622799/
