And that would be me. (The one with the yellow helmet)
Yes, for fun, we did some ziplining yesterday. For those who are wondering "WTF?" Ziplining is when you get put in a harness and then go from one point to another on a rope wearing said harness. It's easy, all you have to do is hold on, and, steer. I don't like heights, but on this trip, I seem to be ignoring that. If you've never done ziplining go do it now. Seriously, get a rope, tie it to 2 points, get a harness together and go nuts you'll love it. On the one we did, you did a total of 5 zips each getting progressively bigger and deeper, until you get to the last one which is uh, insane. The trick is to not THINK about the fact that you're attached to a rope. The experience itself is great, you go fast, (the last one we did, which is the pic of me, you hit 40MPH) and you see some great sites. So yes, that's how we started the day.
From there, we went upwards to the peak of Haleakala which is a dormant volcano, incredible views. While up there, we took a hike that heads down into the dormant volcano to see scenery reminiscent of Mars. Incredible stuff. When I get the pix up, you'll see.
From there, we headed back into town, stopping at Gamestop (dude, the new MLB '08 game for the PSP came out, I'm hooked on the MLB series, and plus, you never know how much airport time I'll have later on so I snagged it), lunch where we had some really good burgers and of course, Walmart. Always gotta see the Walmart.
Came back to the hotel and sat on the beach for a few hours to watch the sunset. We actually relaxed (go play lotto now). Dinner was sushi at a place 10 feet from the hotel, where you could watch Deathwish 3 and the history channel on 2 separate tv's. Surreal...
Great day today. Tomorrow, the Road to Hana!
