Batman!

Over the past two weekends I finally caught up with the two new Batman movies.

And wow, they're good, really really really good.

I have always liked Batman, in fact, one of my all time favorite comic books is the mini-series: Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (info about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman:_The_Dark_Knight_Returns).

I saw the first four Batman movies back in the 90's and they weren't bad, but they never did quite do it for me in terms of being great movies, in fact, 2 of them were just terrible (Batman Forever, and Batman and Robin), 1 was good (Batman), and 1 was eh (Batman Returns).

So I never got around to seeing Batman Begins. Which was a dumb move on my part. When I saw it on DVD two weeks ago, I was hooked. As was my wife. A comic book movie with good acting? A good plot? Not campy? That what this was.

I don't actually like going to movie theaters, I'm more of a DVD/Large TV/Good sound system type of guy, but my other half really wanted to go to see the Dark Knight in the theaters. And it was a good idea.

The Dark Knight was great! It was a comic book movie where the costumes and all that were secondary. Good acting, good story, good cinematography. Worth seeing.

This is not a movie for the young ones though. It is rated PG-13 for a reason. But, at the show I was at they brought a bunch of 9-10 year olds. Gotta love parents in NJ. At least they didn't get them beers too.

Back to the Dark Knight movie, if you're a fan of Chicago, you'll love this one too. Lots of Chicago scenery...

So, if you haven't gone, go now.
