The San Fran Leg Begins...

Thursday

I teach a very pleasant class in the morning, and then take my suitcases and check into the apartment we rented for the weekend.  Yes, instead of getting a hotel room, I opted for renting an apartment which is literally located on Grant Avenue, on the border of Chinatown and the Financial District.  The apartment is nice, if a bit on the older side, with a full bedroom, kitchen, living room and dining room.  The location is perfect as it's near pretty much everything and whatever it's not near can easily be reached by nearby public transportation.  I drop my bags off, and since my wife isn't scheduled to arrive for a few hours, I decide to walk around and start getting stuff for the apartment for the weekend.

Earlier in the week, I was able to snag a free expo pass to Macworld, so I figure I might as well take advantage.  I make my way down to the Moscone Center and go in.  Now, I'm mainly a PC user, so my expectations were low, and I wasn't really wasn't impressed.  Apple doesn't even show up to these anymore, so all that was there were 3rd party vendors showing off their wares.  I buy a cool Sam & Max t shirt:

And really get nothing else from there.  If I had paid for the expo pass, I would have really been ticked off.  Next, I pick up some supplies for the weekend, and then await the arrival of my wife.

Her flight amazingly makes it in on time, and makes her way over to the apartment.  She drops off her bags, and we make a run to Whole Foods to pick up some food for the weekend (and dinner for the night).

After, it's an early night, and we head to bed.
