Sweet jesus, Marlene got me in a helicopter

Yeah, so, uh, never really liked heights much, but, we did the helicopter thing yesterday.

Some proof:

While the helicopter ride was a tad unnerving (for me, not Marlene as she made me point out here, you know, she had no problems with the zipline too, I'm starting to think she's Spiderwoman), the views were amazing, look:

The helicopter tour was with a company called Mauiscape and the ride was about 45 minutes long. It was my first time in a helicopter, and I'm sure I'll be in one again, but not on this trip. :)

By the way, stopped at Borders on the way to the airport, bought (shockingly) a few books, the final tally will be on the last blog.

From there we headed out to West Maui so the ritzy resort area. Unlike the area we are in which I actually like better, as the room is far more reasonable, larger and the beaches are far quieter here. The area we went to yesterday was basically a few mile stretch with about 15 large hotels in one stretch, so it was almost completely full of tourists and very few locals. This would be the area where all the rich folks go. The area was nice, but too crowded for our tastes.

From there, we made a stop at Safeway to grab a few basic vittles.

Back at the hotel, we did some jogging at the beach. This was the first time in 2 weeks I had jogged as I was sick with a cold the week before and having saw pics of me on this trip realized that I so had to jog again before small children ran away in fear of my belly.

Dinner was at the Cool Kat Cafe in Lahaina, which was a few block walk from the hotel. Good place to eat with reasonable prices. Worth a look.

A diversified day, but good.

Tomorrow, some beaches and a sunset cruise.
